Yeah, I know…that’s way too many pets! Especially in such a short period of time. My friend, who got me started by the way…(it’s your fault Cindy!!)… told me I was sick!.....hmmm….could that be??!
As I started building my village I was making up stories about what they were doing, their personalities and relationships, and so on. But it didn’t take long, after they got use to me and realized I was sort of ‘in charge’, so to speak, until they started telling me what they wanted or were planning to do! So now I sort of manage things, like a Mayor I guess, and they come to me with what should be done, or to ask for permits to build something (like our new Community Theater!). …but that’s one of my stories you can read about later.
You might find it interesting to know what brought about my first story (which will be my next post). Black Bart, the resident bat, came to me and asked to have his Cave put in the woods by Flutterbright, the beautiful purple butterfly who lived in a treetop there.
I wrote out a ‘permit’ for this, all the time wondering about this peculiar request. I started observing them and noticed him sitting on a limb, here and there, around her Treetop; making first contact with her (a rather startling encounter!); and I followed her when she made a visit to his cave. Her experience there was frightening, for her, but amusing to me. I felt that I had to write that story down. Things have just evolved from there.
I am even so sick that I have made a hand drawn, color coded and labeled map of my village! Look!......


The village has grown since this, though, and I've had to add more to it!!
